Bula Vinaka! This week has been a great week! The most exciting thing that happened was a visit from President Nelson. We had a mission conference broadcasted from New Zealand on Tuesday, and then President Nelson came to Fiji on Wednesday afternoon. Both were such incredible experiences. I was especially touched by the preparation and excitement that came to the people here. They were so excited to be in such close proximity with a prophet of the Lord. A Kiribati family in our ward told us that all of the kids were memorizing a scripture in case President Nelson called on one of them to share. There was a man at the front about 2 hours before President Nelson came and he was announcing where the prophet was and what he was doing. Whenever the people heard a siren they would all run to the edges of the bleachers and lookout, even though he wasn't expected for a couple hours. Sister Nelson spoke on reading the Book of Mormon, specifically with a question in mind, and President Nelson spoke on how the Book of Mormon was translated. Both were such good topics for everyone to hear. This was also a great missionary opportunity. Many non-members attended to see the Prophet, and we even got one referral! A member had a good friend and his family who attended the devotional, and they told him that they wanted to join his church. We went over to their house and they were very sincere and wanted to learn more. They even planned on coming to church with the member! On Sunday morning we saw them drive up, and then the member took them to the Elders ward! Doggonit! They had a lot of friends in that ward and decided to work with the elders instead of us. At least they are joining the church though...
We have had 2 investigators come to church 2 times in a row! That is really good for this area since it is really hard to have people come to church.

Bula Vinaka! Transfers are this week, but I probably won't leave, I would be surprised if we get a call. we have three sisters coming in, one of whom we have to accompany to her appointment with the US embassy to get her visa for another mission. So that will be interesting, and a lot of busy work. But I guess someone has to do it. we have gotten a lot of referrals one of which came to church yesterday and we set on date for baptism yesterday as well :) Loloma bibi, Sista Wayment

2 Months!

Bula Vinaka! This week has been a great week. We have extended a lot of baptismal invitations and we think a few of them might be baptized! We have been teaching an Indian family. The mom only speaks Hindi and the dad speaks limited English and Fijian. We have brought the Hindi elders over to help us to teach them, and they say they want to be baptized! They came to church yesterday. When they came a member of our bishopric was giving a talk in Fijian and occasionally was yelling. so I think they were a little scared. We are going to bring Hindi speaking members over to visit them this week so hopefully they will feel a little more comfortable. As the Christmas season is coming closer, I have been thinking about the Savior and what He has done for me. Of course we celebrate His birth on Christmas, but the greatest thing He has done for each of us is die in behalf of us.
