Bula! 2 Days in the MTC!

Bula vinaka! My P-day is on Friday :) We have successfully made it through two days of the MTC. It is great! My companion is Sister Wilcox, and she is a Hawaiian from Alaska. There are three other sisters in our district going to Fiji, so five of us in all. Almost all of the elders in our district are going to Fiji, but two are going to California Fijian speaking. It is so cold here in the mornings! We have three teachers who all went to Fiji on their missions. We have an elder from New Guinea who is going through the temple for the first time, so we got to go with him today! Me and Sister Wilcox share a room with two sisters going to Tonga, one of which is Tongan. The first night she asked me if I was from Micronesia. When I said no, she said I looked Polynesian or a mix, so that was funny. One of the members of our Branch Presidency interviewed me last night and showed me a picture of his son-in-law who is a first generation Fijian. I think he (the member of the Branch Presidency) is Tongan or Samoan. The food here is great! They have so many options. They have whole wheat wraps with vegetables, chicken, and beans which are my favorite. Today we are going to go running and study the language a lot. We didn't have time yesterday so that was a bummer when all the elders came up to us and started speaking Fijian to us. We will catch up today. Yesterday one of the elders came running into class yelling something really fast in Fijian. All the elders followed him in and were laughing. Then he said, "you find the craziest things in these dictionaries." He told us that he was saying, "I have a gun!" He had better not try that in Fiji, haha. Well, I hope you have a great week!
Vinaka, Sister Wayment.
